Krieg Spiked Porcupine Cape Reveal
Status: confirmed (Ch. 60 silhouette reinterpreted in Ch. 63) · Technique: silhouette, prop-tell, chekhov-explicit
The seed
Ch. 60 page 16 — silhouette of overhead spiked weapon-shape
Krieg in silhouette, WOOOO SFX, large spiked shape overhead. Initially read as a spiked-mace / war-club.
The payoff
Ch. 63 page 11 — cape revealed as the source of the spike-spread
Krieg: “Then try punching my porcupine cape, boy!!!” The Ch. 60 silhouette is reinterpreted on-page: the spiked shape was the spike-spread of Krieg’s back-mounted porcupine-cape during posturing. The cape is its own back-mounted bladed-defensive armor — punishes melee approach with bare-fist cuts. Cook chorus diagnoses: “His cape’s covered with spikes!!?” / “Don’t touch it!! His bare fist…”
Why this matters
The Ch. 60 silhouette is partially confirmed (new spiked weapon-tier added to Krieg-arsenal) but the form is inverted — back-mounted defensive armor, not active hand-weapon. Documents the silhouette-misread pattern: silhouettes can resolve in form-correcting directions, not just form-confirming directions.
