Why this matters
A chekhov-explicit inversion: a dead man’s literal-sounding mis-explanation (“sank into the sea”) is overturned by the survivors’ own oral history (“flew up to Skypiea”). Oda lets the descendants confirm the geography the reader already inferred — a parallel-arc-structure tell where the Shandian inheritance of grievance and the Mont Blanc inheritance of shame resolve on the same risen landmass.
