The payoff
- Local-arc: the Arlong Park arc’s central moral tension — Nami’s enslavement, the village’s eight-year endurance vow, the 100M-berry buyback — all operate inside this doctrine.
- Cross-arc forward: Fish-Man Island arc (Ch. 612+) inverts this exact rhetoric across the Otohime / Jinbei (coexistence) vs. Hody Jones (supremacy) axis. Hody Jones is the direct ideological successor of Arlong’s master-race doctrine — articulated explicitly in flashback as a child raised on Arlong’s hatred.
Update Ch. 92 — race-rhetoric weaponized at individual-combat scale + fishmen-berserker-mode race-trait added to canon Ch. 92 page 10 — Arlong (mid-attack, charging Luffy after taking Gum-Gum Spear on the mouth): “YOU’RE A HUMAN, AN INFERIOR CREATURE!!! Simultaneously, the chapter installs fishmen-berserker-mode as a canonical race-trait (page 10 — Nami’s chorus-narration: “I’VE NEVER SEEN EYES LIKE THAT!!
