Arc-by-arc updates
Water Seven (Ch. 372 — “Plastic Surgery”) — Decisively beaten in Car Four; Sanji deforms his face with “Plastic Surgery Shot”
- The Car Four fight against Sanji concludes. Wanze self-identifies as “the ace of CP7” (p. 10) — the first on-page naming of a Cipher Pol unit other than CP9 (recorded as a Foreshadowing seed; see CP7 Wanze Ace First On-Page Cipher-Pol-Sibling-Unit Mention) — and re-deploys Ramen Kung Fu (“Ramen Beam,” “Noodle Nail Knockout,” p. 11). He slanders Robin (“she’s a serial liar… a terrible woman,” p. 16) and disrespects food, enraging Sanji (“you wasted food… you called yourself a ‘cook’ in front of me,” pp. 16-17).
- Decisively defeated: Sanji carves through the ramen armor with kicks (not blades — “kitchen knives aren’t swords. They’re not for cutting people,” p. 13) and surgically rearranges Wanze’s face — Kick L’Oeil (p. 13), the Le Menton / Les Dents / La Bouche / La Joue / Le Nez slicing sequence (p. 14), Plastic Surgery Shot (p. 15), and Decoupage (p. 18), demolishing the car. Cross-link CP9, Sea Train, Sanji.
Water Seven (Ch. 370 — “You’re Not Alone”) — Car Four: Sanji vs. Wanze — the noodle suit shredded into “1.4 millimeter pasta”
- “Car Four: Sanji vs. Wanze” — the Ramen Kung Fu fight against Sanji plays out in Car Four (pp. 7-15). Wanze’s “Ramen Kung Fu” wraps him in a giant armor-suit woven from his own noodles and tries to bury Sanji in pasta.
- Sanji at first refuses to use a kitchen knife on a kitchen’s “ingredients” (hands and knives “sacred to cooks”, p. 14), then relents — “an amateur who can’t even cook shouldn’t be allowed to have kitchen knives… the techniques a first-class cook uses to handle a kitchen knife!!!” (p. 15) — and slices the noodle suit into “1.4 millimeter pasta” (“Your 1.4 millimeter pasta is served”, p. 13), defeating Wanze. Cross-link CP9, Sea Train, Sanji.
Water Seven (Ch. 369 — “Ramen Kung Fu”) — Full Ramen Kung Fu demonstration vs Sanji; defeated
- Blocks the boarding party (Sanji, the freed Franky, and the masked Sniper King long-nosed man) in Car Four and formally introduces “Ramen Kung Fu” (pp. 7-8, 17). Named in Kalifa’s onboard situation diagram as the guard in Car Four (p. 4). Demonstrates the full noodle arsenal: kneads “alloy flour” and fires the “Ramen Beam” (p. 11), the “Noodle Slicer / Fire Skate Blades” (pp. 13-14), and tempers the noodles into the “Ramen’s Formal Suit,” an edible combat uniform (“everybody’s dream weapon”) (pp. 16-17). References a strict father (“Even my father never talked to me like that!!”, p. 15). Sanji sends Franky and the masked man ahead toward Robin’s car while he stays to fight: blocks Wanze’s blow once and lands roughly ten kicks in return (p. 15), then defeats him (“So… what are you?”, pp. 19-20). Cross-link CP9, Sea Train, Sanji, Franky.
Water Seven (Ch. 368 — “Sea Train Battle Game”) — Blocks Car 4; challenges the rescuers to a ramen battle
- Blocks Car 4 of the kidnap Sea Train (Puffing Tom) and confronts Sanji, the masked Sniper King and the freed Franky, captioned on-page “WANZE — CP7 Cooking Fighter” (p. 18). Offers ramen made from flour kneaded inside his mouth/nose into noodle “nets” (“like fishnet stockings… about my nose hair”) and declares: “If you want to pass through this car… you must first defeat me!!” (pp. 18-19). His Ramen Kung Fu is teased but not yet fought; the on-page beat confirms a CP7 field agent (a Cipher Pol unit other than CP9) operating around the Enies-Lobby transfer. Cross-link CP9, Sea Train, Sanji, Franky.
Water Seven (Ch. 367 — “Sniper King”) — First clear on-page appearance; staged in the kitchen car
- First clearly shown on-page . Staged running the kitchen in car four of the Sea Train (Puffing Tom) during the CP9 escort, addressed as “Mr. Wanze” — “Mr. Wanze, we’re having some terrible problems on the train now, so…” (p. 18) — as Nero discovers the criminals have escaped. No power / fruit details shown this chapter; his Ramen Kung Fu and CP7 “ace” status are recorded as forward context. Cross-link CP9, Sea Train, Sanji.
Water Seven (Ch. 362 — “Ebb Tide”) — *Named as the CP7 fighter / head waiter in the escort roster
- Named p. 9 as “Wanze, a fighter from Cipher Pol No. 7 (CP7),” also serving as the head waiter on the Sea Train voyage, stationed in car four. Part of the escort detail that grows stronger toward the front of the train. Cite ch. 362 p. 9. Cross-link CP9, Sea Train, Enies Lobby.
