Invincible Pearl · Krieg’s Pirates Second Unit Commander · alive · first appearance Ch. 54
Profile
Krieg’s Pirates Second Unit Commander. Bear-of-a-man with a sleepy/smiling face; body-armor composed of concentric circular shields in a Saturn-ringed pattern around the torso, with smaller disc-shields on the arms; broad cone-hat with disc-ornament; pearl-shaped dangle ornaments on ears, shoulder pauldron, and shields. Wields a spiked chain-mace as a reach weapon.
Combat axiom: “In 61 battles to the death, I’ve won them all… without being cut. Not one drop. I’ve never lost a single drop of blood in battle.” (Ch. 54 page 15). The zero-blood-loss boast is the character’s combat-and-identity axiom — built so specifically (61 battles, single drop) that it is structurally a boast-to-be-broken.
Named attack: “Pearl Surprise” — claimed “killer punch” used to take down Patty and Carne off-panel (Ch. 54 page 9).
Vanity tells (Ch. 54 page 16): “I’m handsome, too. I’m the shield man.” / “As smooth as polished silver.” — extends the East-Blue-villain vanity-axiom pattern (Buggy nose, Alvida beauty, Kuro name, Morgan chin, Krieg titles, Pearl shield-smoothness).
Arc-by-arc updates
Baratie (Ch. 62) — Rank-clarification (additional): Krieg’s direct naming of Gin as “Battle Commander of the Pirate Armada” formally seats the fleet-tier title with Gin; Pearl’s Unit-Commander rank remains intact
Baratie (Ch. 61) — Referenced off-panel as ‘that shield guy’ (the source of Sanji’s 5-6 busted ribs); title-clarification (Battle Commander belongs to Gin, not Pearl)
Baratie (Ch. 60) — Foregrounded via Sanji’s running-commentary as the Krieg-crew’s “battle commander”; proper-name lands on the popularity poll (rank 14)
