Profile

A Shandian guerrilla warrior, named on-page during the assault muster (Ch. 251 p. 12). Minor profile — expand on later appearances.

Arc-by-arc updates

Skypiea (Ch. 261) — fights Commander Yama; iron Vearth bullets

  • Identified by Yama as “one of the Shandians’ strong men” (p. 7). Fires iron Vearth bullets — “an unusual bullet… the Varse mineral known as ‘iron’… heavy minerals don’t exist in the clouds” (p. 7), a Vearth-scarcity worldbuilding beat. See Vearth.
  • Overwhelmed by Yama’s Tenfold Axe / Mountain Axe combo (pp. 9-11) but refuses to die: “There’s no way I’m dying at your hands!!… Bring it, Yama!!” Status at chapter end uncertain (possible first Survival-Game casualty — do NOT mark deceased without confirmation).

Skypiea — the split-up council (Ch. 257)

  • Part of the Shandian council that decides to split up before attacking the Heavenly Warriors (p. 13).
  • INFERENCE: a Heavenly Warrior with an Axe Dial is cut down by one of the splitting Shandians (p. 16); the chapter does not label which Shandian, so this kill is left unattributed.

Skypiea (Ch. 251) — first appearance

Notes

  • ETYMOLOGY: no sourced meaning found. JP reading recorded (ゲンボウ / Genbō). A homophone with the Nara-period monk Genbō (玄昉) is noted in frontmatter as a candidate only (speculative — no source links Oda’s name to him); not asserted in body per the “bad data is worse than no data” rule.
