Summary
At the Alubarna palace square, a Baroque Works frog-themed cannon crew — Mr. 7 and Ms. Father’s Day — arms a giant cannonball in the clock tower, gleefully counting down to a 4
ignition that will fire into the packed crowd of soldiers and rebels (p. 1-5). Marine Sergeant Tashigi hesitates to fire on the Baroque Works agents in front of her (p. 2-3). Meanwhile, in the underground tomb beneath the square, the Luffy vs. Crocodile finish escalates: Crocodile reveals his hook leaves poison in Luffy’s wounds (you’re going to die… from the poison in your wound) and vows Luffy will never leave the tomb alive, win or lose (p. 8-9). Luffy lands a Gum-Gum Gatling barrage and refuses to stop fighting — because Vivi is my friend, and I don’t want Vivi to die (p. 9, 18). Above ground, with seconds to ignition, Nami formulates a wordless plan: using her Climate-Baton Cyclone Tempo, she launches Chopper (carrying Vivi) up the tower toward Zoro (p. 10-15) — Zoro is to catch Vivi and throw her to the cannon to stop the firing. As Vivi reaches the top, the cannon crew spots and recognizes her as the defector Ms. Wednesday and readies their guns with seven seconds left (p. 16-19).
