Summary
Cross-cut between two clocks. At the Alubarna clock-tower, Vivi and the Strawhats race to find the man who will set off Crocodile’s 4
special cannonball — the three-mile-diameter-crater device that will kill the rebels and royal army at once in ten minutes (pp. 2-6). Vivi reasons the bomber must be near the square and within a mile-and-a-half of the blast radius; the group fights through Baroque Works’ Billions, with Zoro and Sanji clearing them in “two seconds” (pp. 3-5), and scatters to search. Meanwhile Luffy and Crocodile resume their duel in front of the palace (pp. 6-19). Crocodile reasserts Warlord supremacy (“There’s no way you’ll ever defeat me, boy… I am one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea!”); Luffy retorts that then he’s “the eighth Warlord of the Sea” (pp. 6-7). Luffy’s water-coated Gum-Gum attacks now connect, but Crocodile counters by revealing his palm can suck moisture out of anything — drying Luffy’s wet fist mid-strike (“Even if it’s wet… what good is that if it can’t hit me?… my palm can suck the moisture out of anything!”, p. 9). Luffy adapts: he drinks an entire barrel of water (pp. 10-11), repeatedly closing distance behind the barrel-as-shield, until Crocodile’s Desert Spada blasts it away (pp. 11-15) and mocks him as helpless without it (“Without that barrel, you’re helpless. This battle will end exactly as our first one did!”, p. 16). Luffy answers “I’m no longer the same!” and reveals he has become Water Luffy — his entire body bloated into a giant water-balloon belly from the water he swallowed (p. 17, SLOOOSH!). The comedic reveal turns lethal: when Crocodile, enraged, lunges and his sand-body makes contact, Luffy’s body-water solidifies him. Luffy springs a leak, jokes “Maybe I drank too much… Ho boy… I got a water belly,” and finishes with Gum-Gum Water… Bazooka!! — a water-charged two-handed blast that connects with the solidified Crocodile (pp. 18-19, FWAM!!).New reveals
- The 4 cannonball fires in ten minutes — Vivi confirms the blast is three miles in diameter, the gunner must be at least a mile-and-a-half from the square, and there is no time left to find him by guessing (pp. 2-3). The Ch. 0193 mass-casualty-device countdown is now in its final ten-minute window.
- Crocodile’s moisture-drain neutralizes wet attacks — Crocodile reveals that wetting a fist is not a sufficient counter: his palm sucks the moisture out of anything on contact, drying Luffy’s water-coated arm before it lands (“my palm can suck the moisture out of anything!”, p. 9). This re-complicates the Ch. 0199 water-fist counter.
- “Water Luffy” — Luffy drinks an entire barrel of water to fill his rubber body, becoming a living water-balloon/water-bomb (p. 17).
