Summary
On the rooftop of the Skull Dome, the five-captain alliance — Luffy, Zoro, Law, Kid, and Killer — presses its assault on Kaido (dragon form) and Big Mom. The supernovas land real blows for the first time: Kid hammers Kaido with repurposed metal scrap (Punk Gibson), Law drives a Gamma Knife into Kaido’s interior hunting the heart, Killer cuts with Sonic Scyther and Rhino Schneider, and Zoro slices with Enma. Kaido concedes they are “not just mindless fools relying on guts,” acknowledging they’ve learned how tough his defense is. When Zoro’s One-Sword Style: Flying Dragon — Blaze erupts in flame, both Emperors recognize the presence of Oden inside the blade (“That’s no ordinary sword!!!”; “How does his katana bear… the presence of Oden within it?!!”) and admit “We’ve underestimated them” — though Zoro himself laments he missed. Big Mom rains lightning (Indra; God of Lightning — Tenjin) but it has no effect on Luffy (“Because I’m rubber!!”), baffling her; Kaido’s Blast Breath flame likewise fails, and Luffy answers with a barrage of Gum-Gum punches culminating in Gum-Gum Gatling. A running gag: an exasperated Law refuses to keep teleporting his allies around (“I am not your personal servant!!! First them, now you?!”) right before Luffy demands “Traffy, shoot me up there!!”
New reveals
- Enma manifests Oden’s flame. Zoro’s Flying Dragon — Blaze ignites; Kaido and Big Mom directly sense Oden’s power/presence within the sword — the first time the Emperors register Enma’s true nature in Zoro’s hands (pp. 12-13).
- Law’s Gamma Knife is an internal-damage technique. Law targets Kaido’s organs from guesswork (“I’ve never seen an anatomical chart of a dragon… but I’d guess the heart… is right about here”), bypassing the dragon’s outer toughness (p. 7).
- Kaido acknowledges the alliance’s growth. “It seems you’re not just mindless fools relying on guts to win!!” — the supernovas have learned to attack his scales’ weak points (p. 8).
- Rubber nullifies a Yonko’s lightning. Big Mom’s lightning has zero effect on Luffy (“Because I’m rubber!!”), and Kaido’s flame “doesn’t work either” — the rubber-body trait carried up to Emperor-tier opposition (pp. 15-16).
- The supernovas’ named attacks all land in concert: Kid’s Punk Gibson and scrap-metal ”…Rifle” (p. 5), Killer’s Sonic Scyther / Rhino Schneider, Law’s Gamma Knife, Zoro’s Flame-Rend / Flying Dragon — Blaze, Luffy’s Gum-Gum Kong & Gatling — while Kaido answers with Demolition Gust (p. 2, flinging Kid back) and Blast Breath.

Open questions raised
- How is Enma drawing out Oden’s flame in Zoro’s hands — is it the blade, Zoro’s Haki, or both?
- Why does Kaido’s flame also fail on Luffy this chapter, beyond the rubber-vs-lightning logic?
- Can the alliance’s combined internal/external assault actually breach Kaido’s defense, or is this only the opening exchange?
