Whitebeards Failing Health Foretells His Final Stand

The seed
A commander notes “His health continues to deteriorate” (p. 11). Whitebeard answers by tearing out his life-support tubes (“Take them off!!”) and choosing to absorb Squard ’s stab he could have dodged — “Pops could’ve dodged that attack easily, even if he was caught off guard” (p. 11). He then charges the entire Navy declaring “They call me a fiend and a monster, but I remain the strongest forever!” (p. 16).
Stabbed and visibly ailing, Whitebeard nonetheless cuts loose at full power — shaking the whole island and ocean and forcing all three Admirals to scramble.
