The only-non-DF-tactical-rule

The Straw Hat crew composition installs a who-is-the-water-rescuer rule:

• Luffy = DF-user (rubber); cannot swim
• Zoro = non-DF, but Mihawk-wounded and mid-combat (Ch. 84)
• Sanji = non-DF, combat-capable, on-deck
• Usopp = non-DF, but at the village square (off-page)
• Nami = non-DF, but combat-uninvolved at the moment

The rule resolves: Sanji is the only-available non-DF combatant who can dive. The chapter installs this crew-composition-as-tactical-constraint register as a structural rule for all later water-rescue scenes.

The rescue-gates-combat sequence

The chapter installs an associated rescue-gates-combat-pairing structural device:

• Sanji must clear the pool-deck before he can reach Luffy
• The pool-deck is occupied by Choo (consummated Ch. 84) and Kuroobi
• Therefore Sanji’s Arlong-arc combat-pairs are forced by the rescue-mission’s geometry

This is the inverse of the Hatchan-vs-Zoro combat-pair, which is locked by six-vs-three-sword-geometry (per Ch. 78 forward-prediction). The chapter’s combat-pair grammar operates on two distinct axes: Zoro’s pair via combat-discipline-geometry; Sanji’s pair via rescue-route-geometry.
