The seed
The seed predicts:
- Pell will reveal a Tori Tori no Mi, Model Falcon Zoan devil-fruit — the only on-screen Awakened-flight Zoan in the early saga.
- Chaka will reveal an Inu Inu no Mi, Model Jackal Zoan devil-fruit — the warrior-jackal Royal-Guard captain.
- Both will be deployed as the Royal Guard’s elite combat assets during the Alabasta civil-war arc-climax.
- Their forward-canon roles are foreshadowed by the mask-as-animal-coding — each captain wears the headwear of the animal he will later transform into.
Why this matters
Oda technique-tell — the mask-as-visual-Zoan-pre-install pattern. Compare:
- Tom’s Workers (Iceberg, Franky-family masks) — animal-masks before fruit-reveal.
- Marines in animal-themed costumes — later saga.
Pell’s beak-mask is hood-fitted around a human face; Chaka’s jackal-mask is hood-fitted around a human face — both register as ceremonial Royal-Guard regalia that just happens to depict the animal each character will later transform into. The chapter does not show any devil-fruit ability — only the mask-coded headwear — but the visual register is unambiguous.
The two captains also pre-load the Egyptian-pantheon coding of the Alabasta royal apparatus:
- Pell — falcon = the god Horus (sky / kingship guardian)
- Chaka — jackal = the god Anubis (death / underworld guardian)
The Alabasta Royal Guard is Horus + Anubis flanking the Nefertari pharaoh — Egyptian-pantheon symbology installed visually before any narrative payoff.
