Why it matters
The Ch. 0161 silhouette densifies an important pattern: the behind-the-desk composition is the persistent boss-issuing-orders register, even after the face-debut. Oda is not slow-rolling the face — the face landed Ch. 0155 — Oda is using the silhouette-grammar to encode Crocodile-as-bureaucratic-villain-issuing-commands-from-his-seat. The silhouette is organizational, not visual-suspense.
This pre-loads the villain face-reveal as arc-event register more accurately than a face-coyness reading would: the face-reveal (Ch. 155) was the arc-event; the subsequent silhouette-returns (Ch. 160 profile, Ch. 161 silhouette) are operational-staging that re-uses the visual-grammar without re-running the reveal. Forward-canon parallel: Doflamingo’s Mariejois-throne staging, Kaido-on-Onigashima-balcony staging, Big Mom-on-throne staging — all boss-at-seat compositions deployed after their faces are canon, as organizational-power-display register.
