The dying buccaneer father’s twins are a distinct infant thread from the Figarland twins: the buccaneer is one of the hunted Davy-clan captives, while Shamrock and Shanks are Garling’s sons by the red-haired mother of the Ch. 1158 birth scene, and no panel equates the two pairs. The Ch. 1160 p.13 woman carrying two sleeping babies may belong to the Figarland rescue chain that Ch. 1161 continues — a rescuer flees with “Garling’s kidnapped babies” and St. Maffey seizes one — but the buccaneer’s own boys from pp. 3–4 are never accounted for on-page. Why this matters

Oda foregrounding an anonymous flashback child (here, twin boys) with pointed dying-parent dialogue and a deliberately withheld antagonist is a classic prop-tell — the deliberate framing marks the twins as a future load-bearing origin (a named character’s parentage, or a Holy-Knight adoption).
