Profile
A large, big-jawed man introduced as a former pirate captain (“It’s been a while since I’ve been called that… Captain Jean Bart”) who had been enslaved by the Celestial Dragons and sold at the Grove 1 Human Auctioning House. First appears Ch. 505 (p. 18), freed and recruited by Trafalgar Law.
Arc-by-arc updates
Sabaody Archipelago — freed and recruited by Law (Ch. 505) — first appearance
- Trafalgar Law removes his exploding slave-collar during the auction-grove battle (p. 18). In gratitude Jean Bart pledges to serve Law — “I will gladly work under you for freeing me from the Celestial Dragons!!” — joining the Heart Pirates.
- Law tells him to save half his thanks for the Straw Hat (whose punch of a World Noble set the chaos off). His enslavement widens the on-page slave-trade reach from fish-men/mermaids to a hardened human captain. See Celestial Dragons, Slavery.
Sabaody — leaves Sabaody with the Heart Pirates (Ch. 565)
- “Come with me, Jean Bart” — departs Sabaody with the Heart Pirates as Law orders the ship out (p. 3).
Marineford — crewman in the Luffy extraction (Ch. 579)
- Aboard Trafalgar Law’s submarine at Marineford, catches the diving Law and the rescued Luffy/Jinbei — “Catch them, Jean Bart!” / “Good! That’s it!” (p. 10). Second on-page appearance since his Sabaody recruitment.
Zou (Ch. 805)
- Among the Heart Pirates stationed on Zou; called out by name in the Whale Forest melee — “Jean Bart!!!” (p. 9) — as the crew tries to manage the rampaging Luffy. Reunites with the alliance (p. 14).
Post-Wano — Winner Island (Ch. 1064)
- Defends Law in the Blackbeard ambush at Winner Island — “Sniper at three o’clock!!” (p. 5).
