Ch. 275 pp. 14–16 — the descendants name themselves the 800-year guardians of the Poneglyph

The Shandian flashback gives the same Poneglyph-and-erasure history from the descendants’ own mouths: 800 years ago Shandora’s warriors fought “those who sought to claim the stone,” and the survivors “became the silent protectors of the great Poneglyph and the city’s ruins,” sworn to the covenant “we are the ones who weave history… hold the truth in your heart, keep your mouth silent.” The city’s gold “was claimed by the people of that land” and “400 years ago, the island flew up to Skypiea.” Closes on “Bring back the light of Shandora!!” This adds the guardianship covenant (not just authorship) to the Poneglyph-makers tell — the present Shandians are a poneglyph-guardian people, mirroring Ohara’s scholars and the world-wide true-history thread, and the guardianship becomes load-bearing when Robin reaches the Upper Yard ruins. Seeds the structural premise that the True History is a suppressed record across many stones, each tied to a destroyed culture. (Noland’s papers — a dead man’s record — supplied the bell/city detail Robin confirms, layering dialogue-from-dead-character onto the reveal.) The ch275 flashback extends the seed from Shandora-was-built-by-the-Poneglyph-makers (272) to the Shandians are its sworn 800-year guardians (275).
