The plea slots into the cost-mechanic already established earlier in the arc: the Reject Dial was demonstrated Ch. 256 as “ten times more powerful than an Impact Dial,” and Wyper himself stated Ch. 261 that “if I fire one more Reject Dial, my body will be pulverized.” The 0269 plea is the renewed, on-page “don’t use it again” Chekhov tell that the recoil cost is the load-bearing tension.
