Why this matters
The chapter installs the villain’s-base-as-fragile-asset combat-mechanic. The Arlong-Park is treated by the villain’s own crew as a fragile asset that the villain himself must be restrained from destroying. This pre-loads two layers:
- The throne-as-target combat-grammar — the chapter’s final-tier full-page panel of Arlong on his throne canonizes the throne as the visual centre of the villain’s identity. The Ch. 70-72 Arlong Empire / Arlong-as-ruler register is here visually grounded in the throne-image.
- The base-destruction-as-defeat-signature — Arlong-Park is operationally Arlong’s outer body. To defeat Arlong, the protagonist must defeat his base.
