This pre-loads:

  • Cobra as a structurally different kind of monarch from the WG-mainstream. The WG (and ultimately Imu) treat the throne as omnipotent; Cobra refuses the premise. This pre-loads Cobra’s later alignment with the Joy-Boy / anti-omnipotence axis at the Reverie and after.
  • The Nefertari D. lineage as a humble-monarch lineage in contrast to the WG-mainstream’s throne-as-divine-right lineage.
  • The arc’s villain (Crocodile) exploits the gap between the king’s doctrine and the citizens’ belief — the citizens believe in omnipotence, the king denies it, and the villain uses the citizens’ disappointment to engineer rebellion.
