Why this matters
This is one of the most deliberate panel-restagings in the series, and it is visual, not merely thematic. Oda re-pours four discrete composition elements from 215 p18 into 548 p18: (1) the one-leg okama swan-pose silhouette, (2) the same “Mr. 2 Bon Clay” caption box in the same left position, (3) the verbatim “Oh come my way” line, and (4) the body framed by oversized DOOM!!/DON DON!! onomatopoeia. The surrounding beat repeats too: the weeping-crew farewell — Straw Hats sobbing “BON-CHAN!! …O flower of friendship—” over the sinking swan-ship (215 p19) maps onto the escapees sobbing “THANK YOU!!” / “Thank you, brother Bon!!” as their ship clears the gate (548 p16), with Luffy’s anguished close-up in both.
The structural lesson: when a character’s signature pose-silhouette + caption box + catchphrase recur as a matched set in a later sacrifice scene, treat it as Oda consciously rhyming the two events — the later panel is “the same beat, escalated.” For Bon Clay specifically, the swan-pose is his death-flag grammar; here (as at Alabasta) the pose is staged as a farewell but no death is shown — see the survival seed below.
