Why it matters
The chapter canonizes:
- Nami-as-marked-traitor — Kuroobi’s voice makes it explicit that Nami’s trader-of-the-crew status is the formal Arlong-Pirates verdict. The Ch. 80 implied Arlong-was-never-going-to-keep-the-promise premise is here on-page-articulated.
- Arlong’s promise-was-always-a-lie — confirms the Arlong Promise Tell and Arlong 100M Berry Buyback Contract trap-deal readings.
- The Cocoyasi-villager-rebellion is criminalized — from Arlong’s perspective the Ch. 81 charge re-classifies the entire village as kill-targets. The Cocoyasi-cannot-be-rescued-from-outside axiom (Nobody Escapes Arlongs Control Doctrine) inverts: once Cocoyasi rebels, the village’s collective survival is on the line.
