- **Fugetsu** (風月) = 風 *fū* 'wind' + 月 *getsu* 'moon' → literally 'wind moon.' *Fūgetsu* is also a real Japanese compound meaning 'the beauties of nature' (lit. 'wind and moon'). One of the **five daimyo clans** serving the Kozuki (光月 'shining moon') shogunate; like most Wano houses it carries the **月 'moon' kanji** that ties the loyal clans to the ruling Kozuki line — the shared mark the disgraced Kurozumi (黒炭 'black charcoal') pointedly LACKS.

Per the flashback, the daimyo clans were rivals for the childless previous shogun’s seat and targets of the Kurozumi poison plot (foiled by Sukiyaki’s birth).
