Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model Bison
Zoan · current: Dalton
Profile
A Zoan-class Devil Fruit eaten by Dalton. Named on-page in Ch. 136 by Wapol — “AAAAH! There it is! The Ox-Ox Fruit! Bison Model!!!” (p. 13). Lets the user transform into a hybrid bison-humanoid form (and presumably full-animal form, forward-canon). First on-page Zoan-class Devil Fruit in the series, and the chapter in which the word Zoan is spoken on-page for the first time (“That’s the devil fruit of the Zoan family”, p. 14).
Demonstrated combat profile in Ch. 136:
- Speed boost — Dalton’s bison-hybrid form dodges all of Wapol’s men’s bullets (SWIP SWIP SWIP SWIP, p. 13). Bystanders: “We can’t hit him!! He’s too fast!!!”
- Striking power — single hammer-fist counter-strike (FIDDLE BAM!!!, p. 13) clearly devastates. Bystanders canonize the power: “What power!!! Like a hurricane!!!” (p. 14).
- Hybrid form silhouette — humanoid-bison: large curved horns, bovine snout, hooved feet (KLOP KLOP, p. 13), still bipedal, retains the two sheathed swords on the back of the armor.

Named techniques
(No named techniques on-page as of Ch. 136. The fruit is demonstrated only in its hybrid-form-speed-and-strike baseline mode.)
Awakening
(No awakening on-page as of Ch. 136.)
Power limits & weaknesses
- Universal sea/water weakness (Devil Fruit rule).
- Tactical weakness — Dalton can’t fight at full force when his own people are caught in the crossfire (Ch. 136 p. 17 — Chess’s arrow lands when the villagers arrive in Dalton’s line of fire). This is the Three Officers know your weaknesses doctrine in action — the weakness is not the fruit but the user’s moral constraint.
Lore & theories
The first on-page Zoan-class Devil Fruit installs the classification grammar that all forward-canon Devil Fruit lore builds on. The Animal-X-no-Mi, Model: Y sub-naming convention (Ushi Ushi no Mi Model: Bison) installs the multi-model Zoan grammar that runs throughout the series (Hito Hito Model: Nika, Inu Inu Model: Wolf / Dachshund, Tori Tori Model: Phoenix / Falcon, etc.). Dalton’s hybrid-form-is-combat-default register is also the install for forward-canon Zoan users — most Zoan combat happens in hybrid form, not pure-animal form.
