Why this matters
This is the chapter where the Devil Fruit classification system enters the on-page vocabulary. Up to Ch. 136, every Devil Fruit has been introduced by name only (Gomu Gomu, Bara Bara, Sube Sube, Bomu Bomu, Hana Hana, Doru Doru, Kilo Kilo, Moku Moku, Baku Baku) — there has been no taxonomy. Ch. 136 introduces the first category-name for Devil Fruits: Zoan family. This is the install-chapter for the entire classification grammar.
The naming-as-bystander-narration register is also load-bearing — the Zoan classification is common knowledge in this world (bystanders recognize the fruit-type on sight), implying the three-class taxonomy is universal world-knowledge that the series has simply not had reason to articulate on-page until now. Forward-canon, Paramecia and Logia will be introduced the same way (someone narrating “That’s a [Class]-class Devil Fruit” at the moment of first cross-class encounter).
This is one of the most generative single-chapter installs in the series: the entire forward-canon Devil Fruit classification framework — including all Mythical-Zoan, Ancient-Zoan, and Awakening lore — descends from this chapter’s bystander-narrator line.
