A short numbered entry in Oda’s umbrella “Chapter Title Page Series” (Straw Hat
Theater) — not a character-led, recurring cover B-plot. Series #7 is a two-page
standalone illustration set running on the Long Ring Long Land-arc title pages,
carrying its own “Vol. N” sub-counter but no recurring cast and no continuing
storyline. Logged as its own note (rather than the LRLL one-off bin) only because
Oda gave it an explicit running Series #N label; it does not advance any plot
and files no seed-payoff.
Chapter Title Page Series #7 (Vol. 1) — “An Angel Comes Down From The Sky”
Two small striped south-birds / sparrows diving down through a vast field of clouds, a tiny third dot high above. Standalone numbered title-page art. (Title page reads “Chapter 314: COMBAT!!”) The “Vol. 1” tag is implicit — 0315 explicitly numbers itself “Vol. 2,” so the angels/clouds image is the set’s opener.
Chapter Title Page Series #7, Vol. 2 — “An Island Full of Holes”
B&W landscape: a grassy field pocked with dark smoking holes, three thin smoke plumes rising from the treeline, a stray “V” mark in the foreground. (Title page: “Chapter 315: SECRET ROOM”; explicit bottom caption.) The descent-from-the-sky → holes-in-the-ground pairing is a self-contained visual gag set, no cast.
Notes
Status: concluded — a closed two-installment set. No “Vol. 3” of Series #7
appears: from Ch. 316 onward the recurring cover serial is the entirely
separate, character-led Gedatsus-Unexpected-Life-on-the-Blue-Sea
(which runs its own independent “Vol. N” counter starting at Vol. 3). Do not
conflate the two “Vol.” counters.
The chapters 0308–0313 and 0317 around this set carry un-numbered standalone
decorative title pages → those live in
Long-Ring-Long-Land-Title-Page-One-Offs, not here.
