• Named on p.8 as the Marine Vice Admiral commanding the Egghead naval blockade; his fleet buckles under the Giant Pirates’ landfall (“~30 small and midsized ships lost and rising”).
• Orders the retreat: “All small and midsized ships, pull back!! Battleships only at the fore!!!”
• His most distinctive feature — a long neck folded into six chins — and his name both echo the Ultraman kaiju “Red King” (see Notes / etymology).

Notes

• Etymology: “Red King” is a tokusatsu homage. The Japanese name レッドキング (Reddokingu) is the exact katakana of the English and is identical to Red King, one of the most iconic kaiju from the original Ultraman (1966) series. The visual tell is decisive: the kaiju is famous for a long, layered/wrinkled neck, and Oda gives the Vice Admiral a long neck folded into six chins; the word “RED” is even lettered on his gauntlet. Independently stated by both the One Piece Wiki (Trivia) and the Library of Ohara Ch.1107 analysis. Confidence: high.
