Syrup Village (Ch. 41) — Hilltop idea-leader; inherits the morning-shout ritual

• Watches the Going Merry depart from the hilltop with Carrot and Onion (page 13). Pepper is the kid in the pirate-skull headband; he is the one who declares “I HAVE AN IDEA!!” at the end of page 13, suggesting that the inheritance of Usopp’s morning ritual is Pepper’s idea. The chapter quietly positions Pepper as the new captain-equivalent of the post-Usopp village kid-crew — the idea-leader. Forward-pattern: the disbanded Usopp Pirates re-form (in spirit) around Pepper as the successor captain-figure for the village-cover-story B-plot.
• Inherits Usopp’s “PIRATES ARE COMING!” morning ritual (page 18) — leading the three kids through the village streets.

Syrup Village (Ch. 40) — Arc-finale: swears the cover-up oath; domestic scene; states ambition (tavern-keeper); witnesses the disbandment

• Present at the post-fight scene; swears to keep the Black-Cat-raid secret (page 9 — “I’ll do it!! If that’s what’s best for the village!”).
• Domestic scene (page 11): mother orders him to wash his already-filthy clothes. Establishes the village-morning-routine montage that demonstrates the cover-up’s success.
• States ambition: “To run a tavern!” (page 17). One of the three Usopp Pirates’ on-page-named adult ambitions; bonded to Usopp’s captain’s-final-charge swear. See Carrot Onion Pepper Promise (new this chapter).

Syrup Village (Ch. 39) — Named on-page (“PEPPER!” panel); fake-unconscious moral-reasoning; overturns Usopp’s coward-doctrine

• Named on-page in the foreground of the “PEPPER!” panel (page 9) — lying in the foreground of the panel where Jango clubs Usopp aside with THWAK!!. Identifying scarf visible. The single-name-in-the-foreground composition canonizes Pepper’s visual identifier for the chapter.

Syrup Village (Ch. 38) — Coordinated ambush on Django; victorious in the trio’s defeat of the hypnotist

• Part of the trio’s pretend-hypnosis ambush on Django (pages 5-9). With Onion and Carrot (Mink), pretends to be hypnotized by Django’s pendulum chant (“We just PRETENDED to be hypnotized!!” — page 7) to set up the pepper-powder + slingshot drop attack. Pepper as the helmet/skull-shirt kid is visible in the action-sequence panels; the trio + Usopp drop on Django from above (“You’ll have plenty of time to regret messing with real pirates… in HELL!!!” — page 9).
• Status at chapter end: alive, in the forest with the trio + Kaya, victorious over Django. The kid-crew completes its arc from fan-club of Usopp (Ch 24) → Kaya-escort detail (Ch 35) → operational combat unit defeating a named lieutenant-class villain (Ch 38).

Syrup Village (Ch. 36) — Fleeing with Usopp and Kaya from Butchie’s forest rampage

• Flees with Usopp, Kaya, and the other two kids (Onion, Carrot (Mink)) from Django + Butchie. The Ch 35 Kaya-escort-detail role (captain’s-order from Usopp) is now operationally live in the forest chase.
• One of the three kids voices the “Usopp’s pirate crew must be prepared!! At a time like this…” line (page 21) when Kaya collapses with fever — the Usopp Pirates captain identity is canonized via the kids’ on-page acceptance in captain-absent mode. Syrup Village (Ch. 31) — Truth

• On the beach with Carrot and Onion (page 10) after sleeping out.
• Spots Kaya walking alone on the road (page 11) — “It’s Miss Kaya!” / “Something bad must’ve happened!! Why is she out walking around on her own!?” The kids register the bedridden-character-outside-the-mansion premise for the reader.

Syrup Village (Ch. 27)

• Present at the cliff-hollow conference; panics with the trio into hide-the-valuables mode when Usopp reports the pirate threat.
• Addresses Usopp as “Captain!” on page 17 — the self-given epithet is in active use among his crew-of-three (cross-links to Straw Hat Epithet First Use).

• Present at the restaurant intrusion scene and at the mansion gate alongside Onion and Carrot (Mink).
• Identifiable via the skull-and-crossbones bandana / skull-print shirt — the “brave” / posing-tough one of the trio.
• Wails “Captain!!” at the chapter’s end when Klahadore floors Usopp psychologically (then is floored by Usopp’s punch).
