- 酒鉄鉱 read **Kitetsu-kō** — 酒 (here the archaic reading 'ki', as in 神酒 miki; 'liquor / sake') + 鉄 (tetsu, 'iron') + 鉱 (kō, 'ore'), literally 'liquor-iron ore' (VIZ 'Drunken Iron Ore'; wiki 'Liquor Iron Ore'). The reading **Ki-tetsu** is a deliberate homophone of **鬼徹 Kitetsu**, the legendary cursed-blade swordsmith whose lineage recurs in One Piece (初代/二代/三代鬼徹 Shodai/Nidai/Sandai Kitetsu — Sandai Kitetsu being one of Zoro's swords): an ore used to forge the underworld's best weapons is punningly named after the setting's most famous swordsmith. The 'drunken/liquor' surface (酒) keeps the metal sounding like a vintage and chimes with the sake/sakazuki motif.
