Profile
Zoro’s East-Blue hometown, properly captioned “Frost Moon (Shimotsuki) Village” Ch. 1033 (p. 11). Established on-page @1033 to have been “built by pirates” and named for the Shimotsuki family — after the émigré Wano smith Shimotsuki Kozaburo (Kuina’s grandfather) settled there as “the old man of the village.” Home of the Shimotsuki Village Dojo of Koushirou, where Zoro trained as a child alongside Kuina. The @1033 reveal confirms the East-Blue Shimotsuki descend from the émigré Wano house.
Etymology
“Shimotsuki” (霜月) = literally “frost moon / frost month,” the old Japanese name for November in the lunar calendar (霜 shimo = frost + 月 tsuki = month). The village + dojo are coded after the Shimotsuki samurai clan of the Wano-coded East-Blue diaspora — a massive long-burn payoff confirmed @1033 (the East-Blue village turns out to have been founded by Wano migrants).
