- *Shimotsuki* (霜月) = literal Japanese **'frost month'** — the traditional Japanese name for **November** in the old lunar calendar (霜 *shimo* = frost + 月 *tsuki* = month). The village + dojo are coded after the family name **Shimotsuki**, a samurai clan in the Wano-coded East-Blue diaspora register (Koushirou is Shimotsuki, Ryuuma is the Shimotsuki founding ancestor, the Wano Shimotsuki Kozaburo is the Wano-origin patriarch). The frost-month / late-autumn cold register fits the somber-discipline samurai-dojo register. Massive Wano-arc payoff: the East-Blue Shimotsuki Village turns out to have been **founded by Wano migrants** — the dojo's existence in the East Blue is itself a Wano-Country-isolation-leak foreshadowing.

Profile
Dojo run by Koushirou where Zolo trained as a child and lost 2,001 matches to Kuina. The dojo’s central courtyard contains the long flight of stairs down which Kuina dies the morning after her oath with Zolo. The Shimotsuki naming is not yet on-page in this chapter — flagged for retroactive update when paid off (Wano arc, ~Ch. 953+).
Etymology
“Shimotsuki” (霜月) = literally “frost moon,” the old Japanese name for November. The connection to the Shimotsuki family of Wano (and to Wado Ichimonji’s lineage) is Oda planting an East Blue dojo with a Wano-derived name a thousand chapters before the payoff.
