- Name meaning
- Gosa (ゴサ) — within the Conomi Islands' food/tropical-agriculture naming chamber (Cocoyasi = coconut palm; Conomi = tree-fruit). Most plausible read: phonetic riff on Indonesian/Malay-style place-name endings (compare Goa) or a soft inversion of *agosa/casa*. No SBS or Wiki etymology has been published; the village's function on-page is as a *destroyed-by-Arlong* benchmark casualty, not a name-pun-vehicle.

Settlement near Cocoyasi Village in East Blue. Visualized destroyed in Ch. 70 as a flipped-upside-down village — houses tipped sideways and roofs to the ground (pages 8-10 splash). The destruction-grammar is physical inversion, not collapse — fishmen lifted and flipped whole structures, matching the chapter’s ten-times-strength canonization of the fishmen race.
Boy survivor Chabo introduced as a refugee from Gosa in Ch. 70 page 10. His father was killed during the destruction.

Arlong Park (arc-climax — restitution-rebuild ordered) (Ch. 94)
- Restitution-rebuild ordered by Nami (page 12, Nami to Nezumi): ‘NOW YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO CLEAN UP THESE FISH-MEN… AND HELP REBUILD GOSA!!’ The Ch. 70 Gosa-Village-destroyed-by-Arlong’s-monsters dangling thread is here closed — Nezumi’s Marines are tasked with the cleanup and rebuild. The chapter installs the arc-coda-restitution-via-Marine-redirection beat for Gosa specifically.
- Status at chapter close: still destroyed, but rebuilding is institutionally ordered. The Marines are operationally re-purposed as a public-works-and-cleanup labor force by Nami’s extraction.
Arlong Park (Ch. 72) — Tribute-village context, posthumously revealed
- Page 12 — Arlong’s henchmen, restraining him from a second destruction: “Aye, we’ve already lost the tribute from Gosa!!” / “We’ll find new villages to tap!!” Gosa is here canonized as a former tribute-paying client of Arlong’s regime — its destruction is now legible as regime-discipline punishment (not random rampage). Pays off Gosa Village Flipped Upside Down at the regime-policy level (the physical method was established in Ch. 70).
Arlong Park (opener) (Ch. 70)
- First on-page name (page 8: “This must be… Gosa, where Arlong went on a rampage a few weeks ago.”).
- Visualized destroyed (pages 9-10 splash) — houses flipped upside-down. The named-village-destroyed-on-page register opens the arc.
