- Name meaning
- *Konomi* (このみ / 木の実) = Japanese 'tree-fruit / nut / berry,' literally 木 (ki/ko, tree) + 実 (mi, fruit). The Conomi Islands grow Nami's tangerines (Bell-mère's grove) and palm trees — the islands are agriculturally a 'tree-fruit cluster' archipelago. *Konomi* can also be parsed as 好み (preference/liking), but the 木の実 reading fits the citrus-grove economy.
First implied: Ch. 69 page 12 (caption: “north-western sector of the East Blue”) + page 18 establishing shot of Arlong Park. The Conomi name itself is not yet on-page Ch. 69 — forward-reveal Ch. 71+. This note exists as a placeholder for the implied island-group containing Arlong Park.
