Why this matters
The Ch. 70 witch epithet (dual-register: Chabo-rage + Nojiko-affection) escalates here to Arlong’s own cold-blooded witch woman label. The villain-side reinforcement of the village-side epithet completes the three-sides epithet-consensus: victim-side, family-side, villain-side all use the same word for Nami. The chapter installs the maximum-density of the witch-epithet before the arc’s retroactive-reframe sequence pivots every prior witch-utterance into sacrifice-narrative register.
The cold-blooded modifier is load-bearing — it explicitly attributes a moral-failure to Nami (she forgave the death of a parent for money). The Bell-mère death is here canonized in villain-narration without name; the buyback contract is canonized as a blood-money arrangement. Forward-payoff: the Arlong-arc resolution (Ch. 93-95) will reveal that Nami’s cold-blooded acceptance of the buyback was never cold-blooded — it was a child’s-survival-strategy under impossible pressure, and Arlong’s betrayal of the contract (Nezumi’s theft of the buyback funds, Ch. 80) reveals that Arlong was never going to honor the deal. The cold-blooded label collapses retroactively into desperate-and-deceived.
