Krieg Poison Gas MH5

The seed
Ch. 62 pages 11-15 —
MH5 deployed at ship-scale
Krieg fires the actual MH5 round (Ch. 60 trick-decoy inverted). Full-page splash (page 15, “KA-FWOOSHHH!!!” ) shows the Baratie engulfed. Dispersal: ~5 minutes (page 17). The weapon is on-page operationally demonstrated as a ship-scale chemical-attack. The village-annihilation boast (Ch. 60 page 14) remains unverified — the gas killed no named character (Sanji saved by Gin’s mask, Luffy by stray mask, cooks by retreat, Krieg-crew by training). Status: confirmed at ship-scale; village-scale boast still pending demonstration .
Ch. 63 pages 2-4 — MH5 was a
hybrid payload (shuriken-bomb + small-area poison-residual)
Gin convulses (SHAKE SHAKE / KOFF / ACK ) from the residual gas-cloud of the Ch. 60 MH5 round. Cook diagnosis: “WHOA!! THE DEMON GUY BREATHED THE POISON GAS!!” (page 3). The Ch. 60 MH5-was-shuriken-bomb-decoy read is structurally amended — the MH5 round was simultaneously both : explosive shuriken-bomb + small-area poison-gas residual. Krieg’s village-annihilation WMD-scale boast (Ch. 60 page 14) holds at full-payload tier; the small-residual tier is now also canon. The full-payload deployment on-page is still pending.
Ch. 60 pages 8-10, 14 — the MH5 is named, deployed (as decoy), and its scale claimed
Page 8: Krieg lifts the giant MH5 cannonball; his crew recoils in terror (“It’s the MH5!!! P-please, Don Krieg, not that!!!” ). Page 10: “…using the poison-gas cannonball!!! …One whiff of this noxious poison and you’ll turn to mush.” Page 11: the Krieg crew dives off their own ship to escape the blast radius (“DANGER! DIVE DEEP!!!” / SPLOOSH! ). Page 14: “I could annihilate an entire village with one of those!”
The MH5 is the first on-page WMD-tier weapon in the series. Three structural firsts:
The deployer’s own crew is afraid of the weapon — establishes the WMD-grammar that WMDs are categorically feared, not just strategically feared.
Village-annihilation scale boast — establishes the single-weapon-destroys-civilian-population axis as a pirate-canonical capability, not just a Marine/government capability.
The named-by-model-number framing (MH5 ) implies a numbered series — Krieg has graded weapons , not just strong weapons . The economic/cost-accounting tactical mind is on-page.
Forward-payoff candidates
Caesar Clown’s Shinokuni gas (Punk Hazard, Ch. 660s+) — gas-weapon canon-extension at island-scale.
Mother Flame (Mother Flame / Mother Flame ) — Levely-era WMD canon-extension.
Ancient Weapons (Pluton, Poseidon, Uranus) — the world-scale WMD-axis is structurally pre-loaded by Krieg’s village-scale gas.
Smiley (Ch. 666) — the Caesar gas-experiment that re-enacts the deployer-afraid-of-own-weapon grammar.
