The full-face Crocodile debut already landed at Ch. 0155. Ch. 168 nonetheless uses a deliberately partial-face composition — only the lower jaw and the stitched-mouth scar are framed. Oda continues to deploy scar-iconography-priority staging even after the face-canon is established: the scar is the load-bearing visual feature, not the eyes or the gaze. Pre-loads the who-scarred-Crocodile backstory-mystery. The composition functions like a heraldic-zoom — the camera selects the scar because the scar is the character’s most narratively-loaded feature.
