Chopper has been wearing the X-marked hat since first appearance (Ch. 134); this chapter reveals the emblem is Hiriluk’s — both the flag (pp. 12, 17) and the flashback hat (p. 18) share the design.

- Cashes the Ch. 134 X-on-Chopper’s-pink-hat tell. Chopper has been wearing Hiriluk’s flag-emblem on his head since his first appearance — for fourteen chapters before the chapter that confirms the lineage.
- Pre-loads Chopper’s eventual acceptance of the Strawhat Jolly Roger — Chopper already accepts the pirate-flag-as-faith doctrine (via Hiriluk’s hat); his Straw-Hat recruitment is a re-hoisting of the same flag-doctrine in different colors.
