- Surface meaning: 封豨 fēngxī (also written 封豕; Japanese reading hōki/fūki) = “the great boar / giant swine.”
- Real-world reference: A colossal boar of Chinese mythology, counted among the man-eating monsters the legendary archer Hou Yi (Yi the Archer) was commissioned to destroy (alongside the likes of the Áulóng and the Záchǐ). Warcury’s transformation is a giant tusked boar.
