Beast-form manifested by St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, one of the Five Elders. Modeled on a skeletal-horse yokai (Bakotsu, “horse-bones”). First transformed appearance Ch. 1110 — tears apart the protective Pacifista during the Five Elders’ black-flame rampage on Egghead.
Etymology
- Surface meaning: 馬骨, read bakotsu = “horse-bone(s).” (Idiomatically 馬の骨 uma no hone also means “a person of unknown origin / a worthless nobody” — a possible barb.)
- Real-world reference: A little-known yokai said to be the bones of horses worked or burned to death, returning for revenge. Commentators pair it with the pale Skeleton Horse of Death — mount of the fourth horseman of the Apocalypse, whose arrival marks death and underworld cold. Nusjuro’s galloping black horse-skeleton (it scythes through the Pacifista) lifts both.
