The Unluckies — Baroque Works’ otter-and-vulture animal-officer pair. Operate in two distinct modes:

1. Field-to-boss courier mailbox (Ch. 0107): the pair receives reports from human Baroque-Works agents at a stamped mailbox at a small log cabin in a Cactus Island hayfield. The vulture perches atop the mailbox (SKREEE) and the otter accompanies. The pair forwards reports to the unknown boss.
2. Internal-enforcement / punishment-squad (Ch. 0105): the pair descends on Baroque-Works agents who fail their missions to punish them. Caption-labels from Ch. 0105: THE MYSTERIOUS SEA OTTER — MR. 13 / THE MYSTERIOUS VULTURE — MS. FRIDAY.

Codename-grammar: Mr. [number] + Miss [weekday] applied to non-human officers — demonstrating the codename-pair grammar is organizational, not human-specific. First canonical trained-animal-as-Baroque-Works-asset — the animal-officer / animal-courier register is a Baroque-Works structural signature.

Arc-by-arc updates

Alabasta (Ch. 161) — confirmed never came back — replaced operationally by the Lizard Runners

• Confirmed gone — Our usual messengers, the Unluckies, never came back (Ch. 161 p. 4). Crocodile, dispatching the Lizard Runners as substitutes. First on-page confirmation that the Unluckies (Mr. 13 + Ms. Friday) are off the board. Likely killed off-page during the Little Garden Wax-Wax House arc — they were last seen alive in the Mr. 3 courier-role. The chapter does not show their bodies; the confirmation is operational, not visual. The internal-surveillance / messenger function is organizationally replaced by the Lizard Runners (Urgent Delivery Force) and the broader Billions-tier. • First on-page appearance in pure failure-trigger mode (page 4). Atop the Sapoten Graveyard gate, silhouetted with shoulder-strap pack. Mr. 9 recognizes them in panic: “It’s the Unluckies!!!” — their mere arrival, with no dialogue, triggers panic across the surviving Whisky-Peak agents.
• First on-page demonstration of the Unluckies-as-Officer-Agent-dispatch-trigger: the Unluckies do not personally execute punishment here (as they did in Ch. 105); instead, their arrival is the signal that higher-rank Officer Agents (Mr. 5 + Miss Valentine) have been dispatched to silence the failing Whisky-Peak cell. The dual-mode register (Ch. 105 punishment-squad + Ch. 107 mailbox-courier) is now extended with a third mode: Officer-Agent-dispatch-signal — the Unluckies arrive before the punishment-tier agents to announce their imminent attack.

Whisky Peak (Ch. 107) — Cactus Island mailbox debut; field-to-boss courier mode

• First on-page appearance in courier mode (page 6): silent receiver of the Mr. 9 / Miss Wednesday field report at the Cactus Island hayfield-cabin-mailbox. Mailbox stamped with the Baroque Works skull-and-feather emblem. Mr. 9: “Done. I hope that puts us back in the boss’s good graces. They’ll deliver it to the boss… for us.”
• Cross-link Mr 13 Ms Friday Unluckies Punishment Squad Debut (now extended to cover both modes).
• Cross-link Baroque Works Boss Identity Mystery (new) — the courier-channel that routes reports to the unknown boss.

• Animal-officer register — the Unluckies are the seed-install for the broader Baroque-Works animal-asset register: Mr. 4’s bazooka-firing baseball-dog Lasoo, Miss Goldenweek’s painting-monkey, the Bananawani crocodiles. The codename-pair-extended-to-animals demonstrates the organization’s structural commitment to the codename grammar over species.
• Dual operational mode — Ch. 0105 establishes punishment-squad / internal-enforcement; Ch. 0107 establishes field-to-boss courier / mailbox-routing. The Unluckies operate as both the enforcement-arm and the information-arm of the boss-identity-mystery system.
