Seki
“King Seki” · unknown · King of the rebel Kingdom of Lulucia · first appeared Ch. 1060
Profile
King of the rebel Kingdom of Lulucia and father of Princess Comane. After Lulusia joined the eight-nation revolt against the World Government, Seki holds his kingdom’s captured World Nobles, declaring “Confess your crimes… once Naval HQ arrives, you’ll all be sentenced to impalement!!” (p. 13). Moments later the entire kingdom is erased by an object dropped from the sky on the order of the Empty Throne’s occupant (p. 15); his fate is left unshown — status: unknown.
Etymology
Seki (セキ) carries no plain-Japanese gloss; per the One Piece Wiki’s name trivia it is likely a clip of セーケイ (Sēkei) — the Székely (Sēkei-jin セーケイ人), a Hungarian ethnic subgroup of Transylvania / Romania. In Bram Stoker’s Dracula the Count claims Székely descent, and Seki’s design (fangs, pointed ears, long dark coat) is modeled on classic Count Dracula imagery. With his daughter Princess Comane (← Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci), the Lulusia royal house is a unified Romania / vampire-folklore theme, and the “impalement” / “skewer” threats both father and daughter voice on-page reference Vlad the Impaler. (Confidence: medium — the wiki gives the Székely link as “may be derived from.”) Source: One Piece Wiki — Seki.
