God Valley (flashback) — shown (Ch. 1162)
- First on-page appearance. Wife of Rocks D. Xebec and mother of the infant “Teech” (the future Marshall D. Teach), shown at the God Valley Incident. A former pirate “welcomed” into the hunted “Davy clan” (“I’m part of the Davy clan now too!!”, p. 7). During the battle she carries baby Teech to safety, telling Xebec to survive so they can “meet again in Lulusia” (p. 8), and vows that if capture is imminent she will “kill Teech and end my own life” (p. 8). Her fate after God Valley is not shown. See Rocks, Blackbeard, Davy Clan.
God Valley (flashback) (Ch. 1161)
- Name only — called out by pirates searching for “Eris!! Teech!!” amid the God Valley battle (p. 4). Not shown or identified on-page here.
Notes
- MERGE-NOTE: Ch. 1162 (owner of the first SHOWN depiction) develops Eris with fuller context. When 1162 is synthesized, MERGE that material onto this note, set
first_appearanceto the earliest chapter she is shown (1162), and HOLDfirst_mentioned: [[Chapters/1161]]. - Etymology (resolved — see frontmatter
etymology): “Eris” = the Greek goddess of strife and discord (Roman Discordia), daughter of Nyx (primordial Night). In myth she casts the Apple of Discord (“to the fairest”), the spark of the Trojan War. Fitting for the wife of Rocks D. Xebec and mother of Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) — the two greatest agents of chaos in the series — shown amid the God Valley “battle royale.” Confidence high (name is spelled identically to the goddess; corroborated by the One Piece fandom naming consensus).
