Profile

Patriarch of the Donquixote and father of Doflamingo and Rosinante (the future “Corazon”). A World Noble (Celestial Dragon) at Sacred Mariejoa who, 33 years before the present, made the “Declaration of Humanity” — voluntarily renouncing his divine Celestial-Dragon status to live as an ordinary human. His idealism, naive to the populace’s centuries of hatred for the Dragons, doomed his family.

Ch. 763 pp. 5–9 — the “Declaration of Humanity” and the family’s fall

First on-page appearance (p. 5), captioned “World Noble (Celestial Dragon) St. Don Quixote Homing.” 33 years ago he shocked his fellow Dragons by renouncing his “divine” status to live as a human — “We always have been [humans]. But we ARE humans.” He surrenders the family’s Celestial-Dragon I.D. chips to the Marines, who resettle the family in a kingdom “unaffiliated with the World Government, far, far to the north” (pp. 5–6). Idealistic and naive (“I must teach you the ways of the world from scratch”), he fails to anticipate the populace’s accumulated hatred: recognized as fallen nobles, the family is hunted, their home burned, his wife dead of illness/poverty, and Homing himself beaten and tortured (pp. 7–9). His plea to the Dragons of Mariejoa to take his wife and sons back is coldly refused — “Don’t ever call me again, human. You chose this life for yourself. What is discarded cannot be returned.” (p. 8).

The chapter takes its title from his act. He renounces the family’s Celestial-Dragon status, surrendering their I.D. chips and accepting exile to the north (pp. 5–6).
The family’s downfall plays out: hunted as fallen Dragons, their home burned, the mother dead, Homing tortured; the other Dragons refuse to take the family back (pp. 7–9).
His “Declaration of Humanity” — and the family’s destruction — is framed as the seed of Doflamingo’s worldview and hatred of the world. The prior in-vault beat (Ch. 760: Doflamingo “killed his father at ten” and brought the head to Mariejois) is the same patriarch.
