Ch. 0800 names its two on-page variants. The 'Sons' Cups' / 'Father's Cup' is the 親子盃 oyako-sakazuki ('parent-child sake-cup,' lit. 'father-son drink'), which binds an 親分 oyabun ('boss,' lit. - Ch. 585 (p. 14): A cultural ritual that establishes kinship by oath — “if you exchange cups, it makes you brothers!” Ace, Sabo, and Luffy each drink from a poured cup of sake to become sworn brothers “starting today” — a bond that “will never be broken” no matter whose crew they each sail with. - Ch. 585: The sake used is “Dadan’s bottle” the boys stole from Dadan; the rite needs no blood relation, no officiant, and no shared crew — three poured cups, simultaneously drunk, seal a lifelong brotherhood.
- Ch. 799 (pp. 16-17): A second on-page variant of the sakazuki rite — the “Father and Son” (oyako / oyabun-kobun) cup. The seven Grand Fleet captains “ritually exchange the cups of ‘Father and Son’” with Luffy, making him the boss/father figure and themselves his subordinate “sons.” Unlike the sworn-sibling (equal-brothers) cup of Ch. 585, the Father-Son cup encodes a hierarchical patron–follower bond — the device by which the Straw Hat Grand Fleet is formed.
