The seed. Ch. 139 pp. 4, 16-17. Zoro stands shirtless and frostbitten in the blizzard after surviving the avalanche-swim (“I-I’m f-freezing… what r-rotten luck. … Some midwinter swim that was.”). Drum townsfolk in awe at the castle (p. 16): “All the way to the top of 15,000-foot Drum Rock!?” / “That one climbed up here with a girl on his back!!” — Luffy carried Nami AND Sanji up the 15,000-foot peak. Kureha’s triage (p. 17): Sanji has “Six broken ribs and a cracked spine”; Luffy is “bleeding badly”; Zoro is “nearly frozen”.
Why it might matter. Canonizes (a) the 15,000-foot Drum Rock altitude figure; (b) the carry-the-dying-crewmate-up-a-mountain feat as a recurring Luffy strength-beat (the captain-as-load-bearer register); (c) Zoro’s exceptional cold tolerance (he survives a midwinter swim and an avalanche shirtless) — a wardrobe-foreshadow for the post-coat-loss running-gag and Zoro’s near-superhuman environmental durability; (d) Sanji’s six-broken-ribs-still-conscious register as the install for the Sanji takes catastrophic damage and keeps going trope.
