Forward-pattern: Usopp’s re-narration-as-power combat-grammar across the series:
- Enies Lobby Sogeking (Ch. 369+): literal mask-and-renaming as a different-person combatant. The mask lets Usopp do what Usopp-the-coward could not. The renaming is the power.
- Dressrosa Usoland (Ch. 700+): ‘I’m the descendant of Noland’ re-narration. Usopp re-narrates his own historical lineage to motivate the dwarves.
- Whole Cake (Ch. 853+): Usopp’s storytelling moments under fire.
The captain-tongue tactical-lie register (Ch. 23 80M men, Ch. 72 8000 hardened killers, Ch. 88 I beat an officer) here matures into a structural combat-grammar element: the lie does not just defuse danger — it redefines the engagement-rules.
