- Sanji’s Whole-Cake arc (~Ch. 825-902): Sanji’s gratitude to the Vinsmokes-for-not-killing-him at Sanji’s pre-Baratie origin is the trap that almost kills him. The Ch. 62 doctrine articulated through Sanji becomes enacted upon Sanji two sagas later — the structural inversion is the chapter’s predictive payload.

Why this matters
The doctrine is the inverse of Luffy Coward Doctrine For Self-Sacrifice (Ch. 59 Luffy: “only a coward would do that”). Both Luffy and Sanji reject self-sacrifice, but on different axes — Luffy frames it as cowardice, Sanji frames it as folly. The Sanji-Luffy doctrinal contrast is canonized.
