The seed
At Water Seven, Iceberg tells Franky the crew’s new ship “still isn’t that ship of dreams” — defining the title as conditional on the ship reaching the end of the ocean after weathering “all kinds of battles and hardships,” falling apart yet glowing “brighter than any other ship in the world” (p. 7). An explicit in-dialogue prophecy attached to the Straw Hats’ vessel: its destiny is to survive everything and reach the ocean’s end.
The payoff
(Pending — to be watched against the ship’s eventual arrival at the final island and the crew’s voyage’s-end.)
Earliest known caller
(Stated in-text by Iceberg Ch. 437.)
Why this matters
An explicit, in-dialogue Chekhov’s-gun prophecy bolted directly onto the Straw Hats’ vessel: it pre-loads the ship’s destiny to survive every battle and reach the ocean’s end before it can earn its title. Worth tracking against the ship reaching the final island. Cross-link What is the One Piece, Straw Hat Recruitment Pattern.
