Sanji Recognizes Crocodile By Sight Voice-Knowledge Operational
Status: pending · Technique: chekhov-explicit · character-knowledge-tell
The seed
Across Ch. 0175-0188, Sanji demonstrates operational voice/face knowledge of Crocodile without an on-page introduction scene. He IDs Crocodile on the snail-o-phone (Ch. 0174-0175 Mr. Prince call routing), navigates the Rain Dinners floor as Mr. Prince without Crocodile penetrating the disguise (Ch. 0175-0176), and in Ch. 0188 reads the Bon-Clay-as-someone-else combat-vicinity dynamic with Officer-Agent-tier confidence.
The knowledge-source is off-page — Sanji never has a documented Crocodile-introduction beat — implying either: (1) Warlord-tier celebrities are common-knowledge to anyone who reads a newspaper in this universe (wanted-poster-circulation tell), or (2) the Baratie cook-bystander information-flow gave Sanji a deeper world-knowledge base than the rest of the crew.
The payoff
(Open — the knowledge-base itself is operationally cashed in the Mr. Prince sequence and the Bon Clay duel, but the source of Sanji’s knowledge remains an open mystery.)
Why this matters
Sanji’s pre-Strawhat world-knowledge is the load-bearing enabler for the Mr. Prince infiltration plan. The Baratie-as-information-hub doctrine pre-loads forward-canon Sanji-knows-the-world beats (Vinsmoke/Germa-66 reveal, All Blue mythology, Big Mom Whole Cake Island geography).
