The payoff
Predicted: every major villain in the series eventually voices some version of the money-confers-authority axiom. Sanji’s page-18 rejection of “I AM A CUSTOMER!!!” is the earliest on-page rejection of the axiom by a (future) Straw Hat.
Forward-payoff: Sanji’s eventual Whole-Cake-Vinsmoke-family arc (he refuses to accept his birth-noble status); Luffy’s punch of Charlos (Ch. 502); the entire Fish-Man Island arc’s anti-Celestial-Dragon politics. The seed is here.
Why this matters
Money-as-sovereignty is the villain-economic-axiom of the One Piece world. World Nobles believe their wealth confers absolute authority. Doflamingo runs an auction house. Big Mom’s economy is tribute-extraction. Every major villain in the series eventually voices some version of the money-confers-authority axiom.
Sanji is the first on-page anti-noble character voice in the series. The Baratie chapter is the structural origin of the anti-noble politics. The Vinsmoke-family payoff (Sanji is born noble and refuses the inheritance) recapitulates this Ch 43 axiom at family-level — Sanji refuses his own family’s customer-as-sovereign claim on him.
