Why this matters
This is the third beat of Oda’s Oiran’s-Procession composition and the cleanest celebration-to-grief inversion of the Wano arc. The lineage of the procession-frame on page 14 of three chapters:
- Ch. 927 p. 14 — procession with Komurasaki’s face withheld (distant, “blinding” beauty).
- Ch. 928 p. 14 — same procession, face revealed, the city in adoration (Oiran’s Procession Restaged From Withheld Face To Revealed Face).
- Ch. 941 p. 14 — same procession, Komurasaki dead, the city in mourning (this note).
The page-slot consistency (14 → 14 → 14) across three chapters is the tell that Oda is deliberately holding one composition and re-running it to carry the arc’s emotional turn — exactly the page-for-page restaging device the 927→928 note already flagged. The crowd is the variable that carries the load: the same flailing-armed throng cheers in 928 and weeps in 941. The mourner’s line — “This isn’t the oiran’s procession I wanted to see!!” — is the in-panel acknowledgment that the reader is looking at the same frame, re-keyed.
